Day 09 of 30: A Fruitful Future

Day 09 of 30: How you hope your future will be like.

I'm going to try not to repeat what I said in my previous post, the Next 10 Years. I hope my future will be bright, prosperous, exciting, filled with adventures, challenging, and rewarding. It's strange thinking where I'll be in the future; I couldn't even guess what city I'll be living in, what career path I'll be down at that point and what I will be doing with my life.

Sometimes I feel like I have a split personality. If I could envision myself ten years from now, I'd love to be living in some big city with a swanky apartment with super modern details and clean lines. I'd love to be that city mom who is pushing the stroller with chic heels and a great Louis bag. Then there's that side of me that wants to be out in the country somewhere with acres of land, a renovated old farmhouse with leaky faucets and room for kids to play and horses to graze.

In the future I can just hope that I've improved on the things that I need to work on the most. In Galatians 5 it talks about the Fruits of the Spirit, and I hope that these are the things I will have in the future: love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. If I can work on growing these fruits now, I think that my future will be bright, prosperous, exciting and rewarding.

Well no matter what my future holds, I know the One who does hold the plans in His hands. The Lord will provide in His own perfect timing, so until then I can just do my best to live a life that He has called me to live in this season. So whether I move to London, Minneapolis, or a small town in Wyoming, I will wait on the Lord and know that He is good.
